Evaluation of photocatalysis of Au supported ZnO prepared by the spray pyrolysis method

Environmental pollution by organic dyes used in industry is a serious problem developing countries. Environmentally friendly treatment methods are being studied because conventional require chemical or additional decomposition treatment. In particular, oxidation via photocatalyst promising alternative due to its and physical stabilities low cost. However, electron-hole recombination limits the photocatalytic activity semiconductor photocatalysts such as ZnO TiO2. This study investigates control of loading Au on (Au/ZnO). Using Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis (USP) method, Au/ZnO particle generation easily achieved under various conditions. XRD analysis confirms crystal peaks Au. The EDX mapping STEM images particles show that crystals well dispersed inner outer portions ZnO. rate dye (Rhodamine-B) faster than all particles, best occurs with 0.1 mass% supported particles. addition, optimal photolysis 100 mL 5 mg/L RhB aqueous solution 10 mg dose
